Varun Ramakrishnan

Varun joined SignalFire in 2024 as a Senior Associate focused on venture and growth-stage software investments. Prior to joining SignalFire, Varun spent ~3 years at General Atlantic in New York & San Francisco where he invested in growth-stage and pre-IPO enterprise software and companies globally, with a specific focus on infrastructure software and deep tech. He was also part of the firm’s thematic sourcing program and earlier stage investing efforts (Series B-D).

Varun began his investing career as a Fellow with Pear VC, where he supported college founders and their accelerator program, PearX. He also supported student founders at the University of Pennsylvania through leading the M&T Innovation Fund. Before entering the investing world, he held software engineering roles at various startups. Varun graduated from the M&T Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Robotics (with a focus on deep learning), and B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School with a concentration in Finance.

Outside of work, Varun can be found spending time outdoors, cheering on his world champion Denver Nuggets, and playing with his goldendoodle, Sid. He enjoys watching / playing sports of all kinds, traveling, and reading.
