Michael Curtiss

Michael is currently a Senior Staff Engineer at Waymo where he co-leads the onboard Planner Infrastructure team. He focuses on the performance, speed, and reliability of software and ML models in self-driving cars. Formerly, he was a software engineer at Google and Facebook with extensive systems, scalable software, and site operations experience. He was also the technical lead for Google Cloud Spanner. An original GoogleNews team member, he served as technical lead for news infrastructure, with broad experience in backend, frontend, search quality, and scalability.
