Ellen Blix joined SignalFire in 2020 to lead the investor relations effort. Prior to SignalFire, Ellen was a Managing Director at Commonfund Capital, the private capital arm of Commonfund, where she focused on business development and relationship management across the United States and Canada. Ellen was previously a Vice President at BlackRock for six years, where she was an investment strategist for the Institutional iShares business with a focus on endowments, foundations, non-profit healthcare systems and pension plans.
Earlier in her career, Ellen was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Wasserstein Perella & Co., both in New York, where she specialized in liability management and restructuring advisory, respectively.
Ellen received a S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Biology and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business school in Finance. While at MIT, she was a four-year member of the varsity women’s crew team. She currently serves at the board treasurer for the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco and as a member of the investment committee for the Foundation for California Community Colleges. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and three children, where they love getting outside into nature and in the winter, they can be found alpine ski racing (kids) and cheering (parents) near Lake Tahoe.
